Sales and Office Assistant
Grand Central Bakery is growing! We are looking to hire a Sales and Office Assistant to help connect our products with more locations. The Sales and Office Assistant provides daily administrative support to the Wholesale Sales team and may support other Grand Central Bakery teams. Providing administrative and sales support under the direction of the Wholesale Accounts Manager. The Sales and Office Assistant supports the sales team by communicating with customers, entering data, and coordinating will call pickups. The Sales and Office Assistant is detail and systems oriented, has outstanding change agility, composure, is able to meet tight turnaround times, and follows Grand Central Bakery's 3 Steps to Giving Great Service at all times
The ideal candidate for this position has excellent customer service skills, is detail and systems oriented, and is able to utilize time management and technical skills to maintain deadlines.

Rate of Pay: $24.99 per hour
Schedule: Full time, Tuesday - Saturday. Schedule flexibility, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Is a customer service champion; strives to provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
- Demonstrates learning agility and ability to continually increase knowledge and learn new tasks.
- Is a liaison between cafés, wholesale customers, production, and delivery. Processes wholesale sales orders, supports customers placing orders, and is flexible in meeting customers’ needs. As assigned, delivers products to customers.
- Identifies and problem solves wholesale customer concerns. Supports retail bread, production, and delivery needs as they relate to sales and customer service.
- Supports account maintenance by offering knowledgeable information, recommendations, and creative solutions to solve for varied wholesale customer needs.
- Collects and documents product quality feedback.
- Supports the wholesale team via generating monthly sales reports and conducting basic data analysis.
- Coordinates and packs sample delivery orders.
- Coordinates and distributes will call orders.
- Provides customer service support for the facility including greeting and receiving visitors, receiving packages, handing off vendor orders, and sorting mail.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintains knowledge of Wholesale Sales accounts and understands department goals in relation to company goals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to read, write, and speak English required
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card and follows health department guidelines at all times.
- Must demonstrate regular attendance by coming to work on scheduled working days and being on time.
- Must be able to add, subtract and multiply with ease and accuracy.
- Intermediate computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, or comparable programs required, experience in an ERP or sales order system a plus.
- Has and maintains a valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with 5 years of driving experience and a driving record acceptable to Grand Central Bakery.
- Follows policies and procedures in the Driver Safety Manual at all times.
- Must pass a company administered driving test.
- Is able to successfully complete Smith System training and apply principles at all times.
- 2-3 years’ of customer service experience required
- 1-2 years’ experience in a sales support environment preferred
- The ability to prioritize and organize tasks required.
- Ability to effectively communicate over the phone, via email, Microsoft Teams, and in person required.
- Ability to maintain composure in changing circumstances required.
Physical requirements include but are not limited to:
- Remains stationary for the majority of their working shift.
- May be called upon to travel between vendors and Grand Central Bakery locations.
- Works in a building shared with production facilities and is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
